
Carte Noire – France’s biggest coffee brand – needed an interactive Valentine’s Day brand promotion to attract a younger, more modern crowd to their “coffee named desire” and consolidate their premium position on the French market.
We created Une déclaration nommée désir (A Serenade from a Secret Admiror). Fabian, a charming French chanson singer, helps you create a personalised love serenade. Based on your responses to his questions, he creates a stylish video clip which is then sent anonymously to your Valentine. If she (or he) can guess your true identity you can win a romantic holiday at an exotic location together.
Your responses to his questions determine the love song’s lyrics. Even your choice of coffee determines the genre of the song that Fabian will perform: R&B, ballad, or rock. More than eighty different lyric versions were recorded and performed in forty-five distinctly different video clips shot in one long studio day. Players interact with over fifty minutes of lush, full-screen video and audio, including alternative pathways and looping sequences.
