A colour for each season
I have a collection of nearly 30 web designs for my personal websites. Some were online for a very short period of time, some for a couple of years, and in some cases, I had several ‘personal’ websites online for purposes of freelancing, portfolio, and personal presence online. I am thinking of making a collection and uploading it sometime, to see the evolution of style and preference over the years.
In the meantime, I worked out a very crude analysis of my personal webpage colours since 1997. I wonder where it’ll head next, and I also wonder if my personal choice of colours was a reflection of the ‘fashionable’ colours of the time, even though I always tried to steer away from fashion?

Syd Mead, the future of US Steel
Fantastic illustrations of how the future would be, as seen from the 60’s. Magnificent illustrations, I think they are still relevant today in their use of light, colour and composition. Simply brilliant.

Some old drawings…
Drawings from a million years ago, when I did a lot of penned illustrations and comics. These ones are old favourites: the Electroduendes and a rendition of the relationship between Katz and the Dandy Donkey.

Portrait
Here’s an old portrait I did, back in ‘97. I still wish I’d done more of it, but life just got in the way… Any models out there in Amsterdam, I’ll be keen to hear from you!

Volvo XC70
Seventy Volvo’s XC70 around the world. Find them!
It was a great, fun project to be involved with. I am hopeful we might win an award or two for it… Volvo meets Yahoo maps! - I did the website design and related banners and emails.

6teen

6teen is a successful teenager TV show, but I am not sure what to think. I admire the illustration style, it’s sexy, stylish, sassy. Which is NOT what I want my pre-teen (or even my teen) girls to be watching and taking as role models of what they should aspire to look like or behave.

Would YOU want your 16 year old daughter to look like this? Or - is this the role model against which 16 year olds should be measured against? If you have anything but stunning looks, perfect hair and accessories, and all the boys in the show want to have sex with you, then you are probably going to be quite unhappy.
Anyways, I did some looking around, and some people say the style is similar to Luc Latulippe, who certainly has some great illustration works. Please visit him!

Beck’s global website
Beck’s global site has a three-phase deployment, and the first one includes four content modules (About us, The Rasterbator, the TVC commercial and the Blogger recruitment campaign) plus the contact, language selection and legal text pages. For me the most exciting part was directing the ‘How To’ video in the Rasterbator section. We created a 374-page blown-up poster of Beck’s logo, fixed it on the bar’s two-storey high wall, and made a movie of the ‘making of’!
